OI Check Status: Mobile Tool for Assessing Work Conditions
OI Check Status is a mobile tool developed by SGS Group Management for assessing the environment and working conditions before performing a work activity. Designed for SGS employees or contractors, this tool helps users determine whether it is safe to proceed with a job or if a Stop Work Authority (SWA) should be issued.
With OI Check Status, users can engage in a Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) to evaluate the situation at hand. The tool prompts users to consider questions such as "What could happen if I proceed?" and "Do I have the correct working equipment, tools, training, and protection?" This quick assessment, which takes no longer than 3 minutes, guides the user's decision-making process.
Based on the assessment, users can choose to proceed if no risks are present and the job can be done safely. Alternatively, if there are potential risks, users can proceed with caution and take additional precautions. In cases where known risks are present, users can invoke a Stop Work Authority (SWA) to discuss the issue with a supervisor and report it as a hazard or risk if necessary.
Overall, OI Check Status provides a convenient and effective way for SGS employees and contractors to assess work conditions and ensure their safety before starting a job.
